Carve and Paint a Hunting Decoy Seminar: The Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, Salisbury University, presents a Carve and Paint a Hunting Decoy Seminar with Bill Veasey and Shannon Dinmig, Saturday-Sunday, March 13-14, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Students use a variety of carving and painting techniques to carve and paint a hunting decoy. Participants are encouraged to enter their finished birds in the 2010 Chesapeake Challenge. This workshop is open to beginner and intermediate carvers. Cost is $80 for members, $95 for non-members and $70 for youth ages 13-18. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required.

Lower Shore Parkinson's Support Group: The Lower Shore Parkinson's Support Group will hold its first meeting Wednesday, March 17 at 2 p.m. at the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, 1324 Belmont Ave, Suite 401, Salisbury, MD 21804.

(Directions are on the back of this sheet)

Individuals suffering from Parkinson's Disease and their caregivers are invited to attend this formative meeting. The group plans to meet monthly on the third Wednesday. In addition to group discussions and mutual support, meetings may include speakers on a variety of educational subjects such as exercise, nutrition, and new developments in the research and treatment of Parkinson's Disease.

The agenda for this first meeting includes:

� Update on PRMC's Neuroscience Strategic Plan by Warner Crumb, Executive Director of Orthopedics and Neurosciences.

� A support group success story. The Sussex County Parkinson's Education and Support Group is one year old with 120 members and some good ideas. Dennis Leebel, founder of the group, will help us get on the right track.

� What do you want from your support group? Q&A.

3rd Friday Attic Artist Exhibition and Chili Bowl Event at the AI&G: 3rd Friday Attic Artist Exhibition and Chili Bowl Event at the AI&G

As part of the 3rd Friday festivities in downtown Salisbury, the AI&G continues to be a vital link to the arts.

The opening reception for the Annual Attic Artists Exhibition will be held on Friday, March 19th from 5-7 pm.

The Attic Artists are a group of women who have painted together for over 25 years. Each year, this exhibit

offers new works created by this amazing and eclectic group of artists. Comprised mostly of watercolorists,

the group's work has now evolved into different unique mediums and equally unique works of art.

The Foyer Gallery Solo Artist will be Ellen Lawler of Salisbury, MD. As a water-colorist, Ellen's body of work

evokes her fascination of nature and in particular birds. Feeling privileged to live on the Eastern Shore, Ellen's

work reflects the changing seasons and the characteristics of each bird species. Spending a great deal of time

sketching and photographing in areas such as Bombay Hook, Chincoteague, Blackwater refuges and other

Eastern Shore wildlife areas, Ellen then brings those subjects to life on canvas.

The Attic Artist Exhibition and the solo exhibit of Ellen Lawler will run March 19th to April 9th.

Also a part of this art filled evening will be a lst Annual Chili Bowl fund-raising event at the AI&G from 5-7 pm.

Created by AI&G board members, Marie Cavallaro and Ray Vorus, this event brings food and art together

for a very unusual event. This fund-raising event will feature hand-crafted pottery bowls designed by Eastern

Shore potters and students along with a wonderful bowl of steamy hot Chili in both meat and vegetarian

varieties. The cost of a simple handcrafted bowl and chili will be $12.00. More unique pottery bowls and

plates will be offered for $20.00 also including your choice of chili along with garlic bread.

Bowls will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Bowls are being created by student and faculty of

UMES and Salisbury University, the Clay Guild of the Eastern Shore and the AI&G.

The AI&G and Gift Shop is located at 212 W. Main Street (Gallery Building) 1st Floor, Suite 101. With it's entrance on Camden

Street, the AI&G is open Monday through Friday from 11 AM and 3 PM.. For more information, call the AI&G at 410-546-4748.
